2. Sayge Coaching Program Basics

To understand how to successfully run a Sayge coaching program, it's important to know how the program works for participants. Here's what the experience looks like for anyone you invite to Sayge:

Who is coaching for?

While we believe that nearly anyone can benefit from good professional development coaching, we know that some folks do better than others. Before you start adding participants, ask yourself what your organization's goals are for providing coaching, and who it can best support. Write those goals down so that they can act as guiding principles as you're communicating the opportunity to potential participants. You'll find some more specific advice for defining coaching eligibility at your organization a little later in this guide.

Pre-Coaching

When you invite a participant to receive coaching, they'll receive an invite email from Sayge prompting them to take the first of several surveys: their coach matching survey. We use the responses in this survey to match them to a custom-fit coach for them, their working style, and their needs. It's important to make sure that invited participants fill out these surveys promptly to avoid any wasted time in your contract.

Matching

After a matching questionnaire has been filled out, our team will take about 5 business days to match the participant to their coach. We'll send a coach bio and introductory email as soon as they've been matched to give your participant a little more information about who they're going to be working with. From there, the coach will reach out with an intro of their own, including several suggested times to schedule their first coaching session or a link for the participant to use to schedule their first session themselves.

Coaching

When a participant is matched and in contact with their coach, the hardest parts are done! From that point forward they're considered "in-progress" until they've utilized all of their sessions. They'll meet with their coach every two to four weeks, and your biggest responsibility at this point is to make sure that they're keeping a regular meeting schedule so that they can complete their coaching sessions within the time allotted by your program contract.

In addition to the matching questionnaire, coaching participants will also receive a few other surveys along the way to help benchmark their experience and think through their growth. These surveys are delivered after their 2nd session (to help us check in on their coach match and make sure everything is going well) and their second-to-last session (to help them understand and interpret their growth).

Through each milestone of your coaching program, you can follow along and track progress on your Program Manager Dashboard.

Keep in mind that your participants can reach out to support@hellosayge.com at any point with questions or issues related to the program, their coaching experience, or anything else they may need help with.
